Today I had a sweet friend reach out to me and ask for advice. She said, “I’m just wondering how you do it. You have a successful blog, and so many other business ventures. I’m super envious and want to live a life like you are, but I’m so stuck.” And it really got me thinking about how we portray ourselves online and what people believe to be true versus what is actually true. I strive to keep everything 100% authentic both on my blog and social media channels, so it continues to shock me when people believe I “have it all together” or am living some glamorous life. Because that is SO not the case at all. In fact, that’s why I created this blog - to share my lessons learned through all of my many failures (past, present, and future)!
It’s true that my blog gets great readership. But in reality, it hardly makes me any money. Don’t get me wrong - I get tons of cool perks and gigs from people knowing me as “Tori Talks,” which is super cool and amazing, but I mostly blog because I love it and because I like to think my experiences help you all on some level or another. And I have my yoga business and my real estate business, both of which are great, yet there are only so many yoga classes you can teach a week…and I also haven't sold a house through my real estate company, Yogi hOMes, yet. I actually just got my first client! So it's all a growing process. I know that it'll take time to grow my businesses and so I work hard to do that every day. But I also work for a catering company and freelance write to make ends meet right now since my real estate company hasn't taken off quite yet. I am struggling just as much (if not more than) all of you :) And I’m okay with that because I’m doing what I love and I know the future is bright for me because I’m working hard to make it so.
So this week on Tori Talks…I’m sharing some words of wisdom from one struggling 20-something to another. Keep on keepin’ on, beauties. WE got this.
